What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

We collect only the minimum amount of data associated with being able to make comments upload files send emails via Contact Forms and other basic functionality of our website.


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Contact can be made via the form on our website.  We use SSL end to end encryption to prevent man in the middle interception of your messages sent to us via our contact form.  This generally protects your details that you send to us whilst that data is in transit.

How We Protect Your Data

We utilise commercial hosting services which are secured and protected environments that store the files that make up our website. No personal data about you is collected and kept or stored openly in a manner that could cause risk or exposure of your sensitive details.

What Data Breach Procedures We Have In Place

Our commercial host provider provides contractually obliged reporting when intrusions are detected and data becomes at risk of exposure. We do not run client databases or other storage of sensitive details and therefore are extremely unlikely to be in a position of having a data breach. The greatest exposure could be your name and email address and your telephone number if you have provided it to us in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

What Third Parties We Receive Data From

We do not use this site for the purposes of marketing or advertising and therefore do not receive data from third parties or provide data to third parties.  Some analytical type data may be provided by Search Engine companies but this is generally aggregate data and cannot be used to identify individuals or expose private data.

What Automated Decision Making and/or Profiling We Do With User Data

We do not profile our visitors and only use your provided data to communicate back to you.  We may from time to time use aggregate data analytics to better understand who visits and interacts with our site and when.  This does not identify individuals and does not expose your data.

Industry and regulatory obligations for disclosure of data that may have been breached do exist and we endeavor to the best of our ability to prevent such breaches but will report in accordance with relevant legislation if required or obligated to do so. This may mean contacting you (by any means available to us) to advise that your name, email address and/or telephone number or other data that you chose to share with us, may have been exposed by an unauthorized access of data breach.  We will do so in compliance with any relevant legislation and regulations.
